Services Science, Management and Engineering Specialisation


To obtain a Specialisation in Services Science, Management and Engineering (SSME) , students are required to choose 24 MCs from the SSME specialisation list of modules. CS3361 and CS4361 are essential courses for the specialisation. This specialisation will enable students who want to pursue careers that have a service-orientation to develop an in-depth understanding in service innovations and service systems creation, operation and delivery.

Specialisation in Information Security

University Scholars Programme (Information Systems)


Students in the University Scholars Programme who choose the Bachelor of Computing (Information Systems) major will take the Information Systems programme, but with the following variations:

  • They will not be required to read University Level Requirements (20 MCs).
    (These are replaced by appropriate First-Tier Scholars Modules.)
  • They will be required to read two (instead of three) modules from the level-3000 module group (CS3250, CS3251, CS3254, CS3255, CS3260, CS3264, CS3267, CS3361 ). Namely, 4 MCs fewer.
  • They will be required to read three (instead of four) modules from the level-4000 module group (CS4245, CS4250, CS4251, CS4252, CS4253, CS4254, CS4255, CS4256, CS4258, CS4259, CS4265, CS4266, CS4267 , CS4361, CS4880). Namely, 4 MCs fewer.
  • They will have 7 (instead of 27) MCs under Unrestricted Electives.
