Financial Aid (General Information)

At the Minnesota School of Business & Globe College, we know career training and a college education are critical to finding a job in today’s competitive market. Our goal is to inform you about the financial resources available to help with the cost of your education. Many students qualify for financial aid options. Students may apply for funding from a variety of sources, which include federal and state grants and student loans. Scholarships may also be available to those who qualify. Financial aid advisors are committed to providing you with an estimate of possible financial aid and assist in developing a financial plan for your education. This personal attention is integral to your success at Minnesota School of Business and Globe College.

Minnesota School of Business and Globe College participates in all of the following Financial Aid Programs:

GIFT AID
Federal Pell Grant $400 - $4050 FAFSA

Description

Grant based on financial need student receives notification of eligibility with receipt of Student Aid Report(SAR) which must be submitted to the school for determination of amount based on cost and credits.

MN State Gran $100 - $7662 FAFSA and School Financial Form

Description

Grant based on financial need.  Must be undergraduate student and a  MN. Resident.

Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (SEOG) $480 - $1200 FAFSA

Description

Grant based on financial need awarded by the institution.  Notification is made approximately four weeks after start date.
 
LOANS
Federal Stafford Loan (Subsidized and Unsubsidized)

First year up to $2625

Second year to $3500

Third year to $5500

FAFSA, Master Promissory Note, & Online Entrance Counseling

Description

Long-term, Low interest loan (variable interest with 8.25% cap,  currently 3.42% for July 2003 through June 2004).  Payments deferred until six months after student leaves school or attends less than half time.  Need based calculation.

Federal Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS) Up to need Federal Plus promissory note. FAFSA
 

Description

Long-term variable interest rate loan with a 9% cap (currently 4.22% for July 2003 through June 2004) for parents of dependent undergraduates.

Student Educational Loan Fund (SELF) Up to $4500 per year. FAFSA, SELF application.
 

Description

Supplemental, variable interest rate loan, allows deferment of principal while in school and requires credit-worthy co-signer

AFG Alternative Loan Program Up to tuition/fee/book costs AFG application
 

Description

Supplemental, variable interest rate with 2 options, allows deferment of principal while in school at least half-time, allows use of loans for less than half-time attendance and does not require a co-signer, if borrower meets credit requirements
All Students that intend to use the Federal Stafford Loan Program must complete Entrance Counseling when they enter Minnesota School of Business/Globe College.  Exit Counseling is also required when students enrollment in school drops below 6 credits.
