It’s that glorious time of year again when Americans gather in front of the TV to rank new commercials, dissect a halftime show, and drink like they don’t have work in the morning. A few people watch a football game. Though it won’t be the big Super Bowl gathering like normal years, your structure for Sunday remains the same: eating way too much food and passing out on the couch by the third quarter. Here are some restaurants that will help you accomplish that.

THE SPOTS

Akasha

$$$$
$$$$ 9543 Culver Blvd

Whatever your drunk cravings call for, Akasha in Culver City has it on their menu. That includes batched cocktails, tandoori chicken wings, brisket chili, taco salads, cheese boards, and three different kinds of desserts. We’re already asleep on the couch. Available for pickup only.

Baltaire

$$$$
$$$$ 11647 San Vicente Blvd

With several different menu options including mezze platters, burrata platters, whole chicken, and grill-at-home burgers, this Brentwood spot is catering to whatever level of pickiness exists in your household. Order by Thursday, February 4th. Pickup only.

Bianca Restaurant

$$$$ 8850 Washington Blvd

Bianca is a casual bakery/restaurant at the Platform in Culver City. For the Super Bowl, they’re offering everything from KC-style baby back pork ribs (Go Chiefs?) to spicy crispy chicken sandwiches and cake shots (which we assume will go down smoother than the vodka version). Every menu item is sold separately and feeds two people. Pickup only.

Biergarten

$$$$
$$$$ 206 N Western Ave

This German-style pub on Western in Koreatown has a menu complete with a fantastic mix of German and Korean food, like military stew with kielbasa, pork schnitzel with katsu sauce, and fried rice with bratwurst and sauerkraut. If you’re looking for something a bit more interesting than room temperature burgers and queso, place your takeout and delivery order here.

Cha Cha Chicken

$$$$
$$$$ 1906 Ocean Ave.

The Caribbean spot in Santa Monica (with a second location in Northridge) has a solid menu full of coconut fried chicken, empanadas, croquettes, and their famous jerk chicken. You can get said chicken either as an enchilada, tostada, or as its own plate, but for game day, we recommend doing the wings. They also have a separate catering menu with even bigger portions. Pickup only.

It comes with Wagyu short rib, three different vegetable sides, insalate topped with white balsamic that’s been aged for 18 months, and chocolate cake. Pickup only.

Jakob Layman

Imli is an Indian spot in Whittier that’s not technically open yet but is doing menu drops via their Instagram. And for this Sunday, they’re doing a special “Desi Super Bowl Combo” that features Desi sliders, sloppy joes, masala peanuts, fried crisps, mango chutney spread, and other dips. The large goes for $55, but if it’s just you and your house plants, they also have a small that costs $35. Vegetarian combos are available as well. Pickup only.

Kali

$$$$ 5722 Melrose Ave

The experimental restaurant in Hollywood is getting involved with Sunday’s big game. They’re offering a $45 fried chicken dinner, which comes with honey cornbread, skinned potato salad, cabbage slaw, mac and cheese, and caramelized apple cobbler. On top of that, they’re also offering three kinds of chicken wings (garlic and sesame, Old Bay, and “Kali-ente”), which run $18 for a half dozen. Pickup only.

Lucques Catering

$$$$ 8474 Melrose Ave

Lucques’ big game catering menu includes a “Steakhouse Dinner Set” for $125 that comes with a grilled ribeye for two and plenty of fixings. Playa Provisions

$$$$
$$$$ 119 Culver Blvd

The casual beachside restaurant in Playa Del Rey is doing a “Super Bowl Pack,” priced at $120 that feeds four people. The bundle comes with all kinds of heat-and-eat items like pickled habanero chicken wings, soft pretzels and mustard, assorted mini cookies, and something called a sourdough crab, spinach, and cheese dip bowl. We aren’t exactly sure what that means, but we do love all those words. Preorder by February 4th, pickup only.

Porto’s Bakery

$$$$
Cuban  in  Burbank
$$$$ 3614 W. Magnolia Blvd

The famous bakery now has a “Bake At Home” section of its menu, which means pastries are shipped frozen to your door and you can throw them in the oven whenever you want - a.k.a once the commercials stop being good. The menu includes cookies, croquetas, guava pastries, and their famous potato balls. Available for takeout and delivery.

Jakob Layman

Red Lion Tavern

$$$$
$$$$ 2366 Glendale Blvd

From sausage platters and schnitzel to a giant pretzel with beer cheese, Red Lion Tavern has some of the best drinking snacks in town. And for that reason alone, you should be ordering takeout and delivery from here on Sunday.

Rossoblu

$$$$
$$$$ 1124 San Julian St

This Downtown Italian spot is teaming up with Superfine Pizza for a big game package that includes three bake-at-home pizzas (margherita, salami honey, and escarole) and a bottle of Portuguese red wine for $55 person. Available for pickup only.

The “Big Game Tray” from the San Pedro Fish Market comes with crispy shrimp, calamari, fried red snapper served with house-made garlic bread, french fries, and fresh coleslaw. They’re also throwing in a dozen sliders, because why not? The whole package will costs $99.99, which is a steal considering it feeds 10 people. Curbside pickup only.

Severance

$$$$ 7274 Melrose Ave

You just remembered that an NFL game can sometimes last over three and a half hours, and now you’re rethinking your overall presence on Sunday. One thing that’ll change your mind is a pretzel and fondue display from Severance Wine Bar. For $30 per person, the package comes with pre-grated Gruyère and Emmental cheese and dunking vessels that include fingerling potatoes, vegetables, Bavarian pretzel bites, and baguettes. Available for pickup only.

Shappy Pretzel Co.

$$$$
$$$$ 11701 Moorpark St.

Shappy’s, one of our favorite pop-ups of 2020, sells incredible Philly-style soft pretzels that are dense, chewy, and eerily similar to the ones you can normally only find within Philadelphia city limits. Even though the Eagles historically melted down this season (again), that shouldn’t stop you from ordering a few dozen of these doughy monsters for Sunday’s viewing party. Pickup available in Studio City and El Segundo.

Slab

$$$$
$$$$ 8136 W 3rd St

The popular BBQ spot on W. 3rd St. in Beverly Grove is doing three different game-day packages that range from $90-$260, the most expensive of which feeds up to 20 people. Each package includes varying amounts of brisket, chicken, spare ribs, pulled pork, and sides like mac and cheese and coleslaw. Available for takeout and delivery.

Located in Playa Vista, this Mexican spot is offering a special $65 taco and margarita party pack that serves three to five people. Available for takeout and delivery.

STK Los Angeles

$$$$ 930 Hilgard Ave

There’s a whole “Game Day” menu at this steakhouse, featuring a loaded nacho kit for $25, three different kinds of wings, and a braised short rib quesadilla you definitely won’t be sharing with anyone. Available for takeout and delivery.

Superba Food + Bread

$$$$
AmericanPastaCafe/Bakery  in  Venice
$$$$ 1900 Lincoln Blvd

If you need to keep yourself busy during that second-quarter lull, Superba’s build-your-own sandwich seems like the best way to do that. Serving four people, it comes with mortadella, ham, and turkey, two types of cheese, condiments, toppings (lettuce, tomato, etc.), and eight ciabatta buns. The preorder cut off is Thursday, February 4th. Available for pickup only.

The popular takeout window in Venice is doing a special menu featuring a $65 party package serving four people that comes with four double cheeseburgers or fried chicken sandwiches, four bags of fries, a dozen wings, four cookies, and a half-gallon Arnold Palmer. They’re also offering a la carte shrimp cocktail, ribs, and more. The preorder cutoff is Thursday, February 4th. Available for pickup only.

Ye Rustic Inn

$$$$
$$$$ 1831 Hillhurst Ave

This Los Feliz dive bar isn’t doing any specific packages this Sunday, but if watching a football game isn’t complete without a pile of chicken wings, be sure to order from Ye Rustic Inn. You get to choose how you want your wings cooked (regular, crispy, and extra crispy), and you should definitely do extra crispy. From there, load up on as many different sauces as you can. Available for takeout and delivery.
