In 2020 there’s really no place like home for the holidays. We all deserve a restful and peaceful time this holiday season. So take a load off, put your feet up, and order from some of Los Angeles’s best restaurants this Christmas. Here are our picks for the top options throughout our great city. It’s a great way to support your favorite local restaurants and to have a relaxing, mostly dish-free evening.

Connie & Ted’s
West Hollywood
Chef Sam Baxter has developed a classic menu of traditional Christmas hits. Start with roasted winter squash soup and proceed to a little gem wedge salad before digging into a slab of hickory-smoked prime rib served with au jus and horseradish cream. Sides include creamed spinach and potato gratin. The famous Connie & Ted’s dessert blondie comes topped with salted caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream. $80 per person. Have a massive Italian feast—featuring dozens of add-on options—from Eataly. Opt for prepared family-style meals for four or eight that include salumi and formaggi platters for meat-and-cheese perfection; chicory salad with olives and fennel; house-made lasagna Emiliana with ragu bolognese, and bechamel; porcini-rubbed prime rib with beef gravy; potatoes with truffle butter; roasted squash with toasted farro, dried cranberries and sherry vinaigrette; sautéed rapini with garlic and chili; and tiramisu for dessert. The new restaurant (which just opened earlier this year right before our first stay at home order) is preparing a smoked turkey breast ($85), rib-eye roast ($125) and hammy pork knuckle ($36), each meant to serve three to four. You can also order sides of baked mac and cheese ($26), brioche stuffing ($26) and butter and chive mashed potatoes ($26), each also meant to serve three to four. Dessert options include six of Thessa Diadem‘s cinnamon rolls ($35) and whole pies. Order online for pickup on Dec. 24.

Gwen
Hollywood
At Gwen, Chef Curtis Stone’s quality, sustainably, and locally-raised prix-fixe meals are available for pickup through December 24. Each meal includes roasted pork loin with dried-fruit mostarda; crushed parsnips; green bean casserole; Parker House rolls; and a yule log for dessert. Of course the talented Gwen team has plenty of cheerful add-ons, too, including gingerbread cookie and house kits, boozy eggnog and even holiday gift boxes. $115 per person. Lawry’s

If roast prime rib at Christmas dinner is your thing, why not turn to L.A.’s most iconic prime rib restaurant? Lawry’s is offering massive Christmas feast packages on December 24, where dinner packages can feed either six to eight people or 12 to 15. Holiday prime rib dinners can be purchased hot and ready to eat, or cold and ready to reheat on Christmas Day, and include sides such as that classic Lawry’s creamed spinach, Yorkshire pudding batter to whip up at home, mashed potatoes with gravy, creamed corn, salad and fresh sourdough bread. $349 feeds 6–8, $569 feeds 12–15. À la carte sides and other add-ons available.

Little Dom’s
Los Feliz
For delicious Italian-American classics, look no further than Little Dom’s. The mainstay has you covered with wonderful family-style dishes. Each entrée and side dish is portioned for six to eight people. Options include veggie baked ziti, a classic pan of meat lasagna, and even a new fried-chicken take on cacciatore, while sides give you choices like the restaurant’s beloved meatballs, mini arancini, and wood-grilled artichokes. David Chang’s buzzy restaurant is offering a trio of Christmas-week options for pickup. Available now through December 22 you can order prime rib with au jus and horseradish cream; bing roll and honey butter; miso creamed spinach; and a hozon blondie with jam and chai whip for $78 per person. There’s a ssam-style whole roast duck that also includes duck confit fried rice; escarole salad with candied nuts and lemon vinaigrette; a duck soup kit with noodles and veggies; and rice pudding with chocolate crumble, miso butterscotch, all priced at $385. Lastly, there’s the smoked prime rib meal with au jus and horseradish cream; black truffle mashed potatoes; miso creamed spinach; six bing rolls with honey butter; and six hozon blondies with jam and chai whip for $475. Order online.

At Kimpton Everly Hotel’s adjacent lobby bar, Executive Chef Jeffrey Williams will be hosting a “Very Merry Q” remotely offering guests all of their holiday favorites and more to go.
This exclusive menu features a half peking duck, braised lamb, roasted arctic char, red kuri
squash, winter root veggies, a cookie plate, and more! In addition to the delectable menu, a
make your own mulled wine kit will be offered. Food can be ordered as a prix fixe menu or a la
carte, allowing guests to choose their own traditional selection this year. This offering will exclusively run on December 23rd and 24th from 3pm-9pm. Prices range from
a prix fix dinner of $57 to a la carte items at $6. You can order for delivery through Postmates, Grubhub, and Doordash or by calling 213-279-3534 for safe pick-up.

APL BBQ
Hollywood
Adam Perry Lang is making mini hams for two ($30 per person), rack of lamb ($50 per person) and beef rib roast ($75 per person). Sides such as cheesy potato gratin, honey butter cornbread and glazed carrots with candied almonds are included with each two-person order, along with a banana cream pie. Order online by Dec. 23 for pickup on Dec. 24.

Bianca
Culver City
The restaurant is offering a selection of entrees that can be ordered per person or for a group. Highlights include Cornish hen ($58, serves two), rack of veal ($300, serves six) and Malbec-braised short ribs ($35 per person). You can also order sides and dessert. Order by calling (424) 603-4353 for pickup on Dec. 24.

Cafe Gratitude
Multiple Locations
Multiple locations of the restaurant are offering plant-based sides such as cranberry roasted butternut squash and pies. DIY holiday cookie kits are also available. Order online or in store by Dec. 20 for pickup on Dec. 23.

Crustacean
Beverly Hills
The restaurant is offering two holiday meal options for four ($400). Highlights from both menus include truffle petite agnolotti en pho, roast duck, braised lamb shank and sticky gooey butter cake. Order online for pickup on Dec. 23 or 24.

Freedman’s
Echo Park
The restaurant is offering a family-style meal for two ($75) or four ($150). Highlights include five-spice braised short ribs and Sichuan black cod wontons. Order online for pickup or delivery on Dec. 22 and 23 or you can order family-style holiday menus for pick-up on Dec. 31 and Jan 1.
Orders must be placed 24 hours in advance.

Gracias Madre
West Hollywood
The vegan restaurant is preparing holiday tamales, including artichoke mole verde tamales and jackfruit barbacoa tamales ($48 per dozen). Order online for pickup on Dec. 23.

Huckleberry
Santa Monica
You can order a selection of meals and sides that serve four, including a roasted chicken ($75) and braised short ribs ($80). Sides include smashed potatoes ($35) and turmeric-roasted cauliflower ($38). Whole pies and cookie decorating kits also are available. Night + Market
All three locations of the restaurant are offering what chef-owner Kris Yenbamroong is calling a Thai Chinese American Christmas Eve menu for two ($120). You can choose a regular or vegan menu. Highlights include orange cauliflower. Order online for pickup on Dec. 24.

Shutters on the Beach and Hotel Casa del Mar
Santa Monica
The restaurant is offering a three-course meal ($95 per person) that features heirloom pumpkin soup, Wagyu slow-braised short ribs and a toasted almond chocolate flourless cake. Order online for pickup Dec. 24-26 and Dec. 31-Jan.1.

Spago
Beverly Hills
The restaurant is offering a holiday meal for two to three ($325) that includes loup de mer, herb-crusted rack of lamb, whole Christmas duck or 64-ounce prime rib roast along with starters and sides. Order online for pickup on Dec. 24.

Baltaire
Brentwood
The restaurant is preparing a prime rib dinner for four ($295) or six to eight ($495) that includes a prime rib roast, creamy lobster bisque, salad, sides and dessert. You can also order a dinner for four without the roast for $155. There’s also a New Year’s Eve package for four ($375). Highlights include country pâté wrapped in bacon, endive and citrus salad and beef cheek bourguignon. Order online for pickup through Dec. 31.

Vespertine
Culver City
The restaurant has an Alinea-inspired tasting menu ($95 per person) available for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Order via Tock for pickup on Dec. 24. or Dec. 31.
