Disc Zone Parking
Carlisle City Council operates a Disc Zone Parking Scheme.
- This offers free time limited on street parking.
- City Centre Zone C operates a 1 hour Disc Zone
- All other areas in the city operate a 2 hour Disc Zone
The Disc Parking Scheme is signed on all the main entry
routes into the City.
Clock Discs are available from The Tourist Information Centre,
Civil Enforcement Officers on patrol and local shops and
businesses.

- On parking the vehicle set the Clock Disc at the ‘Time of
Arrival’.
- Display the Clock Disc inside either the front windscreen or
side window that is nearest to the kerb. Ensure that it is clearly
visible from the outside of the vehicle so the Civil Enforcement
Officer can validate it.
- It is acceptable for the ‘Time of Arrival’ to be written on a
piece of paper and displayed as a clock disc would be.

- It is not acceptable for hand written notes to be taken into
account, i.e. ‘Working in Flower Shop’

- No Clock Disc is displayed in the vehicle.
- A false time of arrival is displayed on the Clock Disc or it is
subsequently altered.
- The vehicle is not removed when the free parking time
expires.
